Gentle tones of R&B and soul music fill the sunlit Denibi showroom of Pier 59 Studios. A subtle buzz fills the air, and then silence envelops. But what quickly fills the space are the romantic structures of elegant blazers and voluminous dresses, all inspired by the soft tones of spring. Creative Director Fadel Denibi captures the essence of the upcoming season by utilizing pale pinks and periwinkles, combined with stark whites and electric blues. However his nod to spring is not overdone: skirt structures evocative of flower petals and his delicate usage of lace evoke a feeling of lightness and delicacy, without reminding viewers of the typical gaudy florals associated with the warm season. Fine silks contrasted with heavy jacquards set a unique tone for
the entire collection, but reflect an evolution of versatility and innovation for the brand as a whole. The bold elegance of the Denibi spring/summer 2018collection sets a high standard for the future of the label, one of which they are sure to exceed.
