An infrequent occurrence, but a true experience; Dolce and Gabbana kicked off their four day sample sale at Soiffer Haskin this October with a long awaited line and many eager customers. The sale spans from children's, men’s and women’s clothing, along with accessories and shoes.
The magnificent world of designer brand Dolce & Gabbana is exposed to the public in a large portion of anything and everything you can think of from embroidery, sequins, leathers, patterns, furs, and more. The event is truly a dent in the wallet waiting to happen for anyone who is a sucker for discounted designer prices.
When arriving at the event, no line was in sight, but after asking the door man planted promptly in front of the glass door where the event was said to be, direction was provided to walk to the gate corner and find to see about 5 rows of people awaiting the sale. Each customer in line looked to have a story, a husband saving a sport for his wife, a businesswoman on lunch break, a family of a mom and her daughters and many other unique individuals ready to explore the treasures that were waiting to be found upstairs. The wait continued as the day went on and into afternoon, spanning about three hours in line. The wait was soon over and the hunt was about to begin.
With raw souls of the feet and draining energy, everyone so desperately awaited the line of sight between the staircase and the glass window, separating us from the sale at the top of the staircase. It was as if the only thing that could brighten spirits was the sight of the amazing fashion everyone had longed to seeing for about 3 hours or more prior; and it was exactly that and more. Placed along the expanding bleek floor of the large showroom space was a maze of racks, decorated with the most delicate, mind blowing, and sensory stimulating array of merchandise that you could ever imagine.
Racks with studded Jeans from waist to hem, wildly patterned matching sets, exquisitely tailored suits and bousiers and a personal favorite; the gown racks. Hung high so the bottoms would keep to perfection, a plethora of dresses in all fabrics, prints, silhouettes and styles drew every customer’s eye for detail in a little bit closer than the rest of the items. The shoe section was complete madness as customers scrambled to find their size; a right foot left sideways in one isle and its matching pair across the room. The love for fashion was there, in everyone's eyes, whether they came to spend money, or came to spend solely time, the customers lent their eyes and their hearth to appreciating all that Dolce and Gabbana had to share in that large empty room. The Dolce and Gabbana clothes, accessories, and shoes overwhelmed the space with creativity, color, structure and pattern, a recognizable fact that each person paid tribute to as they took the time out of their day and walked along the narrowly cleared walkways.
