Originally launched in 1978 with their “looks that you want to know better,” Jordache has made a triumphant return with the launch of their Fall 2019 collection through an elevated Western presentation at Mercer Hotel in Lower Manhattan.
Embracing their “modern woman meets the wild west” theme, models clad in leather cowboy boots and are presented like angels, standing on pristine, white feathered platforms. Instead of being grounded, models intermingle with one another, creating a pleasant and casual air about the presentation. There is an excitable, uncontainable energy that transports me to the old salons of the Way West. However, professionalism is of the utmost importance as models are attuned to when cameras are aimed towards them and willingly pose, dipping their cowgirl hats with a wink, or clicking their boots.
With the immaculate white background, the denims of this modern Western collection really sing. Jordache maintains the classic denim silhouette through their renditions of a pair of detailed paints, two-toned jumpsuit, and a two-piece set emblazoned with their logo. With metallic accents interwoven into leather belts, dripping earrings, or embellished scarves, a sense of the modern New York woman is married with this Western take. The splash of neon colors keep a youthful touch to the classic denim and continue to catch the eye of onlookers. The most polished look is a denim jacket with neon pink sleeves that coordinates with a neon pink belt. The collection is the perfect love child of the 2000s era with wild cowgirls.
Jordache Fall 2019 collection expresses a sexy, strong, and wild attitude that coincides with the new era of Jordache that aims to take a modern and humorous spin on the dramatic Spaghetti Western. To which, I tip my hat and humbly state, “Yeehaw.”
